We are very proud of our first homebred champion. “Chiquita” means “little girl” in Spanish, but our “little girl” (14-3/4″) had some big wins. We are extremely thrilled with her ASSA Award of Merit at the Riverside National in 2001 as well as her BISS win at the San Jose SSCNC specialty in February, 2001. Other significant wins include, 3^rd in Futurity at the 1996 National, 4^th in American Bred at the 1998 National, several Best of Breeds and a Group placement.

We are also proud of her producing abilities which she is passing on to her offspring. Bred to CH. Arenray’s Reminisce –”Marty,” she has produced CH. Mindalyn Fifty-Fifty – “Austin,” who is owned by our best friend and mentor, Cathy Dupree of Mindalyn Shelties. She also produced Mindalyn This Time Next Year – “Amy,” (ptd.) who is co-owned with Cathy Dupree. “Amy” is continuing the producing tradition with three champions to date and two other pointed offspring. In a repeat to “Marty,” Chiquita produced Braeleen Remember Me – “Tiffany” (ptd).

Sadly, Chiquita passed over the Rainbow Bridge in March 2008. She is dearly missed, but we are comforted by seeing her in many of her descendants.
